Who are we: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . .. . . . . .. . . .. . . . RockWater is a non-profit Community Entertainment Center focused on concerts, and other entertainment venues for young adults and families in the Wausau area. We began in February 2000 at Scott & 1st Street as a Coffee House/Cyber Cafe' which, over two years, saw thousands of young people involved in our performance events including concerts, poetry slams, open mic nights and music festivals. In 2003, the City of Wausau condemned the building occupied by RockWater to make room for a downtown parking garage. Due to a lack of funds and an affordable location, RockWater has been in hibernation for almost 5 years, from March 2003 until January 2008.

RockWater had filled a nich for those young adults who were too young or just wanted an alternative to the bar scene. Nowhere else in Central Wisconsin could they get all that RockWater provided in a healthy environment. We were their only alternative with, live music, and other good fun. The new RockWater is a little different. We are not a Coffee House or Cyber Cafe'. Today we are a Community Entertainment Center that eventually will be open every Friday & Saturday evening for concerts, movies, and other entertainment, primarily for young adults, but also offering some whole family activities. Also, the facility is available for use by the people of this community on a regular weekly or monthly basis, or a one time event, at little or no cost.

We aren't politically correct, but we're trying our best to be "Godly Correct": We are uncompromisingly Christian. We are not a Church, nor a youth group. Our board is made up of Christians that want to see a place in Wausau where young people and their families can come and have a good time, in a clean, wholesome environment. We are not a perfect organization, but we have left the dock.

A simple mission:
To provide a safe, positive, wholesome venue for local & imported talent, concerts, movies, games, and special events for the young adults, families and organizations of Central Wisconsin.

The immediate goal:
To be open every Friday & Saturday night with some type of wholesome, affordable activity. This will happen as soon as we get the volunteers and we are fully up and running. We are also looking for good suggestions, send them to the email address below.

. . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ..... .. . . Entertainment Venue:

Concerts - Venue for professionals, amateurs & local musicians. Cost will vary depending on the groups. Most will be in the $5.00 range. Prices will be posted on the schedule.

Free Movie Nights - Usually double or triple features, for example: possible trilogies: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Ice Age, Dr. Dolittle, Crocodile Dundee, Back to the Future, Legally Blonde, Shrek, etc. We will not be showing anything rated worse than a "PG-13" and those will be screened. Hollywood just can't seem to make a movie without something off-color. Ratings will be posted on the schedule. For a cost of $5.00 unlimited popcorn and soda. The "G" & "PG" movies can make a good outing for the entire family.

LAN Parties for the Video Gamers - high-speed internet gaming with large multi-port hub. Only games from our approved list and must be played with integrity.

Open Mic & Karaoke Nights - For those who want to share their talents, or lack there of.

Packer Games - on the big screen, someplace other than a bar, with popcorn, soda, etc.

Trips & Summer Camps - as opportunities arise.

Whatever else that might make sense & be fun.

..Our Location: . . 4307 Stewart Ave., 3/4 mi. west of Menard's, next to Franck's Gym. Look for the "Big Church Alive" blue & white lighted sign. Click here for map.

Would you like to be on our "event update" email list?

Send your name and email address to: .RockWater@Charter.net . . .

We are looking for more volunteers to help some of these events happen, email us with your name, phone no. and email address if you are willing to help with oversight, entertainment selection, setup, cleanup, parking, concessions, etc. Also, occasionally we will need people to put some of the out-of-town bands up overnight. Let us know if you would be willing to help out in anyway: 1 time, occasionally, or every week.

. . .The Rockwater facility is available for use by the people of this community on a regular weekly or monthly basis, or one time event. Contact us for availability. We reserve the right to refuse use if we deem the use not to be of a safe, positive nature, or in our best interest.
